Have to say how surprised I was to receive this months GM this morning and find the rules of golf included with the mag.

That's the funny thing about golf...some people think that if THEY break the rules and YOU call them on it, YOU'RE the one in the wrong.

Can you check it to see if there is any mention of a rule that says we can murder the single golfer who tee'd off before our 3 ball this afternoon and decided to have 6 practice swings before s**nking his second shot?

Is there anything in the new rules about being able to use distance measuring devices such as laser or gps range finders on any course in comps etc or is it still a local club rule that applies?

Still a local rule .....although I have just noticed nothing can be used to gauge wind direction...people used to throw grass in the air....is that allowed?

Local rule, so still bottling it.

Don't get too excited though chaps. Changes don't come into effect until Jan 1st

Does it mention how many shots you lose if your caddy car decides it is lonely on the fairway and follows you into the bunker, where you are assessing your chances of making the green 80 yards away, with a four foot lip above your ball.

In fairness the caddy car blamed the high wind but.....!!

I 'took' a 2 shot penalty but I could not find the ruling at the time!
