Any rule changes to speed up play will be most welcome

Allow players to carry high calibre firearms and shoot anyone who:

(a) Has lost a complete hole to the game in front
(b) Leaves their trolley on the opposite side of the green from the next tee
(c) Take 30 practice swings then top the ball 4 yds
(d) Walks at 0.00004 mph between shots

Golfer I can't see that ever happening! Some of the old farts around our course could do with a boot up the backside

We took 5 hours and 15 minutes to go round Slaley Hall (Hunting Course) earlier this month. Suicide was seriously considered at several stages during the round. Me scoring a huge 7 stableford points on the front nine didn't really help...

The longest round I've every played was at Royal Portrush this year in the North of Ireland Championship. It took us 6 hours to play. The weather was awefull, but there shouldnt use that as an excuse. By the time we reached the 16th tee I had lost the will to live. One of the guys I was playing with on this eventfull day was a member of Portrush, he had a pro caddy with him and I was going to ask him had he every played the course before. You would of thought he had never seen it before let alone played it.
6 Bloody hours at this standard of golf.

That's unreal. We did spend a fair bit of time looking for balls at Slaley but anything over 4hrs 15mins is out of order. 6 hours is, quite frankly, awful.

I would have walked in and let my tongue loose on everyone of the effers until I got to the clubhouse.

I did say to the GUI offical about it and his answer to me was that they didnt know what they could do to speed the play up. Silly old Fart. I was tempted to walk in. The 1st 2 days a quallifing and then it's into matchpaly i seen 1 match and heard the players saying that it had taken them 4 hours to play 14 holes and that was 2ball.
