Whilst I cannot make it, my brother and a few mates are heading up to Glasgow for the Tigers match next week. Can anyone recommend pubs and eateries for the Friday night and ore match.

Can't go wrong with byres road in the west end. Then hop on the number 4 bus from highburgh road just outside and across the road from tennents bar (thats an ok boozer as well).

Im not a rugby fan and I live right beside the stadium but a few mates came up for the northampton game last year and the northampton team went to the loft in ashton lane (just off byres road) after the game. All the women were like flies round the proverbial.

Should have said that thetes loads of places to eat aroun there but if they want a great indian can recommend mother indiad cafe in dumbarton road. 10 min walk from the bottom of byres road. Magical tapas type curry.

Anywhere in the city centre will do but you are a good 20/30 minutes from the ground by public transport. I would suggest pick any boozer in the city centre for food and a few beers then jump in a taxi/uber which would cost no more than £10 and 10-15 mins. Glasgow is now awash with plenty good eating places and you won't go wrong with most.

Where are they staying? That may swing choices.

Did you get your guys sorted? if not it may be worth considering this. Again, where they are staying may be the driver if this works or not.

Glasgow Warriors will be trialling a new bus service to and from the Champions Cup opener with Leicester Tigers at Scotstoun on Friday night.

The bus will leave Crafty Pig on Great Western Road at 6.50pm on Friday, ahead of the 7.45pm kick-off, and will return back to Crafty Pig immediately after the game with the drop off and collection point in front of the main stand.

Return tickets for this exclusive bus service are priced at £6.50 and include a free Eden Mill and tonic on your return back to the Crafty Pig after the game, thanks to Glasgow Warriors sponsor Eden Mill.

Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis and must be purchased in advance HERE.

Crafty Pig will have a matchday food offer for supporters with any burger and a beer priced at just £8.

Supporters who purchase tickets will receive further information on Thursday 13 October.

I went in Malones and watched the Rugby when I was up there, had a great day/night, friendly and good beer and the food was excellent as well.

I then found a small basement bar, I think it was called Red, again very friendly and good music.

I had a very quick drink in a small bar just up the hill on the left after coming out of Wetherspoons, even for me I felt uncomfortable, definitely not an English loving bar or they didn't like strangers full stop, either way, it was a very quick pint.

Even as a Glaswegian I can feel a bit 'just a bit out of place' in pubs in certain parts of Glasgow. it wasn't you - unless you asked for your drink in more than a whisper or the barman shouted out 'English b*$tar* in the room - hud on tae yer wimmin' Or words of greeting to that effect.
