Hi all

I have been at Centre Parcs over the weekend with a few mates and 3 of us decided to play 18 holes at Rufford Park Golf Course.

I have to say what a great course so picturesque and I think it was really well set out. If anyone has played before the 17[SUP]th[/SUP] proved quite difficult for the 3 of us. It is a Par 3 170 yards (if I remember correctly), you tee off on top of a hill and right around the edge of the green is a lot of water. We all tried to go for the green in one and none of us made it all landing in the drink. All part of the fun at the end of the day.

It was the first time I had played 18 holes and I know it is not much to brag about but walked away with 3 holes on par (never pared a hole till the weekend). My front 9 was good (for me) but the back 9 I really battled as I got really tired and made stupid mistakes. I can’t remember exactly what I shot but a the end of the day it was about enjoying a good day golfing at an amazing course.

Would definitely recommend Rufford Park to anyone.

We stayed at center parcs earier this month and played Rufford on the Sunday afternoon. We are fairly local and have played it before, I thought it needed a lot of water.
The 17th is a great hole,i put a 7 iron to 8 foot, which was even better as the group in front stood and watched;)
Ceter parcs is great but they're pushing the prces to the limit.

I live round these parts and to be honest when we've played Rufford it hasn't been in the best nick compared with others nearby. It could be a really good course but the fairways often let it down.

If you can try and get on Sherwood Forest, Coxmoor or even Hollinwell. They are all really great courses near by. Also there are a couple of courses at Calverton, Ramsdale and Springwater that are decent tracks for the money.

Rufford is an ok track has some good holes but its very overplayed. Maintenance has gone downhill a bit and its just a average pay and play course. There are way better courses within 15 miles of centre parcs. Ramsdale is the same green fee and a miles better course IMO
