Not really a review, so will just post it in The Lounge.
Well. What a day. Weather couldn't have been better, bright sunshine with a gentle breeze.
We rolled into the car park about 8.30 to give us time to soak up the atmosphere before our 10.10 tee. Bacon roll and a brew later we wandered out the front. Totally different perspective looking out towards the stands from here. Meandered into the changing rooms and had a chat with the guy who's been running them all week. I got Ross Fisher's locker.
Onto the putting green. Very fast compared to my home course, very true. Not a single bobble.
After what seemed like 10mins we were being called over to the 1st tee, scorecard and players stroke saver (lots and lots of info on those!). Photo taken right next to the sign and then we were off. The pins were all in Sunday's positions, but we were off the yellow tees. A few holes, these were the same as the championship ones.
1st drive, well 3w, and I was shaking like a s******g dog. Hit it lovely, slightly down the right but nice ball flight.... 2 bounces, straight into the bunker. The 1st of several visited throughout the day.

The course was immaculate, as you'd expect. The par 3's were pretty much on the championship tee's and I managed to hit them in level par, with a lovely 10 foot putt birdie on 15!
The majority of the par 4's are just long. Both those and the par 5's all appear to have tight driving lines, even if there's actually quite a large area to go at.
Then there's the 18th. It's the first time I've ever had the chance to play into such an arena and you can imagine how intimidating it must been when it's full.
Just a wonderful day. Probably the best golfing experience I've ever had. Simply amazing!

Oh aye, just to show how on the ball they are there. The board was already updated.
