I have received an email from RAGC which opens, "As a recent visitor..."

I have never been to RAGC so is this spam or genuine?

Its for an Open Day on the 21st April, to meet members, staff, play a round and if following through with membership goes on to state you get playing rights at 7 other courses in the south of England. It has a few links within the email which at this time, I have not opened.

I know we have some RAGC members on here so hopefully they can shed some light on it for me please, more so to having quite an old email address that still found its way to me!

I know our new club manager (David Boyce I think) is doing a big push to drum up new members. I've no idea how he would have your details if you've never played here but its legit. All details should check out on the club website including the open day. The 7 other clubs mentioned are reciprocals we have, again these should be on the club website somewhere. Hope that clears it up.

Cheers, it did look genuine, even the many email links within it but, it was very strange that they had an old Hotmail email address that I've never used for ages or for anything golf related.

They must have bought a data base of someone?
