Royal Ascot Golf Day - CANCELLATION

Hi all,

The law of the sod has struck me and I have an interview for a job in the morning at 9am. I have tried to move heaven and earth to get it shifted, but no can do. As I am currently not working, I am left with little choice but to attend (and let the interviewee know what a great day I am about to miss so he better give me the job).

So, there is a place now going on the day.............

I have already paid for this and pm'd Homer to let him know, so in the spirit of not wanting to b*****r up Martin's hard work and draw skills, I am offering the round free gratis to any forumer who can make it at such short notice (if you feel compelled to chip in then that's fine, drop me a pm).

This must be a great opportunity for a forumer who perhaps could not make it for financial reasons or whatever to have a great day out from a kindred (and highly upset / narked / why did it HAVE to be today) forumer.

Mike - any chance of retaining the goody bag if no-one takes my place.

Just leaves me to say have a great day guys and I will be there in spirit (in body, I will be on a train to and from Fulham cursing all and sundry who decided that they could not see me on Monday)

Its a bit like waking up as a 7 year old on Christmas Day to find out its been canned (I imagine it is anyway, never having had a Christmas Dy canned)

Got a call from Twire regarding your misfortune. I so desperately want to go, but as you know I have a new week old baby and the 2 year old now.

I've tried every conceivable blag, brownie points, friends round to help out tomorrow, but to no avail. It just looks like it ain't going to happen.

I won't stop trying for the rest of the evening though. Am I a bad father!?

I would love to go but I haven't got a car. The only thing that I have got is deadlines to be met , oh and 2 weeks off . So i'll make be playing plenty of golf to make up, hope the weather is going to be as good as its meant to be tomorrow. Have fun guys.
