My home course Parkstone is in very good condition but the rough in places is just unplayable and to be honest its looks untidy in places and why the need is beyond me , Our 6th is now a Par 4 at 493 yards , HDIDO still show it as a Par 5 , with the rough the course is now playing 2 to 3 shots harder as the CSS is showing , at some point during your round you just going to miss the fairway and you be in the deep stuff , finding it is one thing and playing is another thing . It seems to be the green keepers bible these days just to grow this rough and let it grow , most of us don`t mind a bit , but being unplayable just of the fairways ain`t fun anymore , what is it like at your home course as i find they are all doing it at most away course i have played this summer ....................................EYG

I made a similar complaint about my club - see link above! The reasons given are to toughen up the course (it does that alright), improve the definition of the course, and to provide a habitat for wildlife and butterflies. I think they are really just trying to cut down on green keeping costs! I have written a complaint to our general manager, and I know that other members have also complained!
