Evening,

Today I shot my best ever round on a golf course scoring 38 points with two blobs

This was NOT the bizarre viewing.

The coulle in front of us (old senior members 1x male 1xfemale) had brought something along for the 18 holes! This something being their pet dog! Ties to the ladies trolley at all times.... Walked all 18 holes.

I personally thought it was mad.... And how such a private club would allow such a thing....

To to be honest though the dog was well behaved not made a noise once just walked along side at all times.

Hs has anybody else experienced this?

All the time

loads have their dog with them when playing round Woburn

My FC on a sunday morning has his and he gets a treat anytime we get a birdie - very well behaved

Played a match last week at Millbrook and the oppo had his dog with him also - well behaved again.

Some clubs dont allow it though

I have played a few clubs that allow dogs, I don't see it as an issue, I take mine to my 9 hole club all the time, he loves it and no one has an issue with it.

Dogs on the course are a very common sight on some of the old style traditional courses around Surrey.

The most i have seen is on the Army Golf Club a couple years back - all the old colonels took their dogs with them

'Quality' of the course can be determined by the number of Water Bowls outside the Clubhouse.

Many have 1 or 2; Sunningdale 3; Muirfield 4 plus 1 on the 7th (pretty much highest point).

Plenty of dogs on leads attached to Trolleys. Doberman the largest; Schnauzer the smallest, though a yappy Jack Russell was a pain on a buggy once.

Seen it a few times at our place, always tethered to a trolley, always seem to be well behaved. Saves leaving them indoors and then having to take them for a walk when you get home I suppose.

Lots of the guys walk the course with their dogs although I admit I have never seen one playing while walking them.
