See Rory's indicating not playing 2020 Olympics, divided loyalties as to which team he'd be on has him realising it's just easier to not bother. Guessing zika had little to do with the 2016 decision, more likely this. Fair play to him for saying it and probably puts the issue to bed for him now he's said it. Shame but understandable.

It was never about Zika. As he says in his Kimmage interview, he doesn't need the hassle of the Olympics, but understands that it means masses to others. Fair play.

Which I'd understand had he not already said he'd represent Ireland. Surely that means the ship has sailed and he could get on with playing.

As far as i know golf is like rugby over here ! all 32 counties under the gui , so even tho there is a GB & NI olympic team, he would still fall under Ireland for golf ?
