Rory dumps Horizon & considers coach change

He needs to concentrate on his golf. Brilliant young golfer who (in my opinion) is just feeling the pressure a wee bit at present. Wonder is Nike have created this situation on purpose?????????????????????

Proof that the move from Chubby was a bad decision.
I'm convinced that his troubles began soon after the split and that he could well still be No.1 if he'd stayed....Chubby wouldn't have let him sign for Nike - money isn't an issue and he's always going to play 2nd fiddle to Tiger, even if Rors vets back to the top.
At Titleist he would have been Top Dog.....

Presumably Mark Steinberg (Tiger's agent at Excel Sports Management) has been making overtures, promising that they could do wonders for his image and press coverage and I am sure Sean Foley thinks he can improve Rory's game.

He just needs to post in the 'experts' section here at GM and we'll all sort out his issues

A lot of people wanting a piece of Rory and he's a young lad, so can't be easy. But the allure of big dough has clearly been at the root of his form this year. He will get his form back once he settles into his golf with less distractions. I hope so as he is one of the most genuine people in the game and gives great feedback. But like a lot of youngsters confidence can be a fickle thing to get consistent.
C'mon Rory, bash the balls and get enjoying your golf again, so we can all see you win again!!!!

He's lost.

What??!!

He has left Horizon and has his family looking after his affairs now.Let's face it his previous lot have not exactly done a poor job in deals have they?

is this the same chubby that just before he left had him driving all over china in a week of exhibitions, missing tournaments and racking up more air miles than many would consider is a year?

Ive said it before its a case of too much too young for Rory Mcilroy, amazing talent but mentally fragile with no B game, for sure he will win again but you wont be seeing another Tiger,Jack etc with Mcilroy.

great link and seems that the current strategy was carefully planned but has gone sour a bit quick, I am still not convinced that Rory wouldn't have been better off sticking with chubby, now he's sorted with Nike for 5 maybe 10 years cant see any reason why his dad can't desk with the everyday management

According to the sports news channels and social media he has come out and denied it. I think he made a bad decision to leave the Chandler camp and has been poorly managed since. He needs someone strong to manage him. Not sure changing a coach if he does so is such a bad thing.

Graeme McDowell has now confirmed they have split. Apparently daddy's taking over.
