Just been watching the US Open and boy that is a tough golf course.I was thinking if Rory doesent be patient here which lets face it its something he seems to find hard nowdays especially when it all starts to go wrong he could really blow up to a big score here.If the wheels fall off early dont be suprised if Rory posts big numbers.....

Think there will be a few big numbers. Everyone will get out of position at some point and its how they get out of it without blowing the card to bits that will go a long way to deciding the winner

Rory's not looking like top 20 player recently, if he doesn't get his act together quickly he'll start to slip down the order.

Rory seemed to bounce back pretty well yesterday after a few bogies, if he's finally got he's head together and got he's form back he should go pretty close this week.

He isnt playing great yet is still in the top twenty at the moment (still plenty of holes left of his first round too), isnt this his "B" game that everyone so wonderfully batters on about?

To be honest, I think this B game is nonsense. You can only play as well as you can on any given day, some days you get the breaks, others, you dont. Calling it something that really isnt in existance is bullplop. Tiger had days where he just couldnt miss, he also had days where he made mistakes but still hit enough shots well enough to win, that is a whole lot different to being able to flip a switch to a different game.

Rory wants to win and will play attacking golf to get there. I think he'd rather win when it works and miss cuts when it doesn't than settle for top 10 finishes. History only remembers winners and Rory's name is already there.

It's why I never watch the US Open.
The courses are so tricked up it's ridiculous.

really? That's interesting as I find it enthralling to watch these mighty men humbled by a course and made to look like a mere mortal for once. Its the same for all of them as they say but he who can recover and hit it straight will prevail. Fascinating stuff and the fact the weather has made it interesting than they originally thought. I'm waiting to see what happens when the greens speed up!!

Its not too long since the demise of of one Tiger Woods was debated strongly on here , had slipped out of the top 50 & was finished , if some were to be believed .. when your at the top for a while there is only one place to go unfortunately .. Surely Lukes demise has been far greater ? ?

Rory's a young lad with alot going on in his life , he will find his place , get comfortable with it and start playing good golf with a smile on his face again ..

Patience & Knowledge is something that comes with age, maybe blow ups & posting big numbers is what makes you stronger mentaly to sustain being at the top level for longer .. dont forget he is young & was striving for world number 1 for a few years , at the start your a nobody in a big sport , then you get known and your life starts to get in the spotlight , then you become world number 1 , everyone wants a piece of you, women want you , kids (some adults) want to be you , your life is in a fish bowl ..

id imagine that takes getting use to & at some stage its going to sufficate you , i think that's where Rory is at right now ..
Someone else will take the spotlight soon & Rory will get back to doing what he does best , but this time when he reaches the top he will know what to expect & be ready for it & be better able to handle it

The courses are so tricked up it's ridiculous.

Yet we normally get people (not necessarily you Bob) saying they don't like watching when the players can smack it as far offline as they want and still have a shot to the green, AND be able to get enough backspin on the ball to control it.

I didn't see as much of it as I wanted to yesterday, but what I saw I enjoyed.

Miss the fairway, have a difficult job to save par. It's the only defence a short course with holding greens due to the rain has.
