By God the opposition must have been terrible.
Signed for us from ICT and was immediately recognised as the slowest moving striker in the history of the game, also looked as though he would struggle to hit a bull's a**e with a banjo.
Couldn't be sure though as his lack of pace meant he was very rarely in a position to prove otherwise.
In case you hadn't guessed I was not impressed and young Mr Shinnie seems similarly disappointing.
Mr Rooney and Mr Shinnie were extremely successful in the SPL with Inverness Caley Thistle, however not every player adapts to their new club.
Aberdeen or should I say, their super manager, has managed to make Adam a force again, as he has with our other ex ICT Irishman.
No doubt Mr Shinnie could also flourish under new management.

Playing at a higher level and in Europe helps.
Adam Rooney played in the Europa Cup whilst at Birmingham City and he was still poor. If you really think that the standard of the SPL is higher than the Championship in England then you either don't follow football or you have had an early drop of the malt this morning.

Unbelievable............Birmingham once played in Europe!
Mickey, I was not being desperately serious!
Hey! We have precious little to be proud of. Have to shout about it when I can.
As they say "Some of my best friends are Scotsmen", and one in particular was a fine centre-half who never got to play for his country, probably due to the then anti-Anglo policy that the SFA could afford to implement in those days.
In the early 1960's every team in England seemed to have their share of quality players from North of the border. Dirty Bertie Auld still figures in my all time Birmingham team. Leicester City were even referred to as Leicester Thistle.
Sad how times have changed and the clubs in the EPL are "shopping" everywhere else in the world.
Watched most of the Alan Hansen documentary the other night.
He said that the team with him in defense Souness in midfield and Dalgliesh up front could have been the best in the world.
He was bitter that Freguson chose McLeish and Miller in front of him for the World Cup, can't say I blame him.
He was right to be bitter.
McLeish and Miller were good but Hansen was probably world class, and from my previous posts you might know that I do not use that accolade lightly.
McLeish and Miller were a great pair though, so I could see why the greatest ever manager in the world made his tough choice.
