I've supported Hearts since 1966, when I moved to Edinburgh as a 7 year old.I've been back down south since 1975.I love the club, but for me it's the fans that make the club special.Seeing how they've responded to the shares fiasco confirms this. But Romanov and HMFC should hang their heads in shame. I read that a young 11 year old donated his life savings,£50 and the club, with Romanovs consent have accepted the money. Do they have no shame?

Reminded of the old saying 'if you fly with the crows you will get shot with the crows'

Hearts debts virtually equate to the value of Tynecastle so I would imagine Romanov will cut and run.
The club has no real value as it stands.
Pity really as I have always thought that Hearts, like Aberdeen, were one of the few Scottish clubs capable of breaking the OF stranglehold.

No sympathy at all. Hearts fans were not all crying and moaning and raising eyebrows when Romanov and HMFC were paying wages way above there income for years. It was always going to go tits up, it was just a matter of time. At a time when even Celtic and clubs like Aberdeen, Hibs, Dundee United etc were all cutting expenditure Romanov was sanctioning crazy wages.

Why the surprise that it actually has gone to the dogs?

Very little sympathy for Hearts from me I'm afraid - as much as I have in the past hoped they would challenge the Green and Blue weegies. But by their misdemeanours be they judged - as by their misdemeanours they could well have done my club and many otehr Scottish clubs out of some success and money.

BTW - for this reason is why many of us supporters of 'diddy' Scottish clubs did not shed (m)any tears on the demise of Gretna - to the consternation of the English press as they thought Gretna was a marvellous fairly tale - aye it was - a Grimms fairy tale where in the background there is darkness, greed and nefarious deeds.

Not nice, but pretty small fry when you compare them to portsmouth, the club that spent money set aside for local charities to fund wages of players they could never hope to afford. And they're STILL getting away with it...

I think you could buy Hearts for about £25m...not a bad investment IMO.

Bolton £132m in debt. How could they possibly lose £22m last year with all the money they get from Sky.

Was a bit shocked at the scale of the debt at Bolton myself. I remember a couple of years back their chairman said they could let fans in for free at all home games and still be rolling in cash due to the Sky deal!! God only knows what they've done to throw away that scale of cash as their ground, training ground etc have been in place for a long time.

As for Hearts, ever since the days of Robinson they've thrown away a chance to have a reasonable go at the OF. Has been heading this way for some time with the wages etc Romanov has been paying. As with Rangers I hope they don't go out of existence altogether.

I don't know the details with Hearts, are they going to go down the Newco/Div 3 route aswell?

The fans are trying to buy the club Jocko but I can't see it happening.
Romanov has been playing silly b's for the last 3 years. He is no fool and will get his money back or put the club into administartion.
All the property is in his banks name so he is not too bothered either way.

I wasn't looking for sympathy, just expressing my disgust at the club taking a young lads' life savings.

I'd be looking to the parents with that one.No chance my kids would be allowed to open their piggy bank to help save Hibs.

As for Hearts, they've paid players they couldn't afford, won cups thru effectively cheating, still fielding players they cannot afford and cannot pay and asked to defer their wages.I know some good Jambo's, some of my best mates, but there is also a new breed of jambo that appeared on the scene at the same time as Vlad. The good ones, I hope they save their club, but that's tempered by the new breed, who I hope see their club demolished infront of them.

I'll take all the stick in the world about my 'wee team', but I'm safe in the knowledge they'll be around long after I'm gone.

All praise STF.

Liquidation not administration.

Having players you really cannot afford is not cheating.A huge amount of clubs do this!!

Stupidity and financial suicide it is yes but cheating it is not.

the writing was on the wall when Romanov walked thru the door, tried to dictate the team, Burley, Pressley et al left and if I was a fan I'd have said this isn't my club anymore. But all footie fans lap it up like Lemmings. Remember the scandal about the price of footie tops for what they are, and do fans still shell out stupid money for them, of course they do. There's no sensibility in footie fans support. I used to watch the Pars religeously but then got sick of shelling out £20 for no quality of entertainment, in fact it was dire to watch and you come away frustrated, out of pocket and feeling what a waste of your time! So I went climbing more and more as I guarranteed my own entertainment, a bit like the golf even on a bad day.
Being a footie fan is crap in Scotland hence why so many people are deserting the game and doing other things. fact.
