Another of rock's greats goes to the great gig in the sky.

I'll have the stereo in the car cranked up to 11 in his honour.

RIP

Great rhythm guitar player, co-wrote some tunes that have stood up for 40 years now, those 70's and early 80s albums have a lot of great no nonsense rock n roll which in the right mood with an open road behind the wheel is hard to beat, 64 seems too young but I guess the 'lifestyle' maybe took its toll.

He's been suffering with dementia for a few years now. Gone too soon.

Shame. Great musician and one I always felt didn't get the limelight in the band he deserved

I didn't get that impression, we all knew it was the Young brothers Angus and Malcolm's band. I'm sure he was happy to let Angus wear the school uniform, do the stage histrionics and crowdplay along with the lead singers but they really were a proper band honed from endless live touring in the early days with Malcolm driving it.

Very sad to hear he's passed. He was the heart of the band. He'll be knocking on the pearly White gates with his Gretche around his neck.

Been on the cards for a while given the state of his health, but still a sad day for rock n roll. I thought his brother Angus put it beautifully, 'job well done Malcolm'. RIP.
