Really sad to hear that Robin Gibb of the BEE GEES passed away yesterday.

His and "The Bee Gees" contribution to the music industry was immense and not only their own songs but also the many great hits that they penned for other artists. Their catalogue is second only to Lennon and Mcartney and at one time IIRC they had 4 consecutive hits at the same time in the top ten in America. Not many artists can stake a claim to that.

One of my particular favourites, and very much the sound of the late sixties and seventies is,

"Massachussettes" (sp)

He will be sadly missed by many.

Not my type of music I'm afraid....

BUT he earnt my total respect for all the genuine effort he put into seeing bomber command from WW2 got a proper memorial...

RIP

Some of their stuff was catchy I suppose but I wasn't a fan. However I never realised how much work he'd put into getting the memorial organised until the tributes came in this morning. Also how much he'd actually given and raised for hundreds of charitable causes. Sad day and a talented musician and a humbling human being
