Robbed while on the course!!!

Hi guys

Thought I would share with you my story from yesterday.

Was with two of my friends at The Oaks Golf course in Surrey and as we are new to the game and having done the 9 hole a couple of times we decided to give the 18 hole a bash!

Taking our time letting the quick guys play through we got to the end of the 11th hole and as we was walking through to the 12th 3 young guys approach me and tried to rob my golf clubs!

Trying to make sure they don't get the whole bag as my car keys and phone was in the bag I grabbed the bag but one managed to get my driver out and was on his toes with it so I gave chase but my unfit self couldn't keep up so the bugger got away with my driver.

It's not an expensive one but it really got me pissed of an ruined the rest of the round for me.

Any how thanks for reading and I thought I would share with you guys just to give you the heads up to be vigilant when playing if you see suspicious characters!!

I trust you reported the incident to the golf club at the very least? Not much they can do to get your driver back but they should be made aware that something like this is happening.

I would even say make sure to report it to the police. Even if the chances of catching the guys are slim, I doubt it is the first time they did something like this and it probably won't be the last either.

I would be so furious if it happened to me. Seriously. The nerve of those guys.

Its half term! we were warned yesterday about kids on the course pinching balls, no where as bad as losing clubs though.

I reported it to both police and the golf club. For what it's worth it didn't expect them to do anything but like you said I wanted to report it so they know themselves.

It just really pissed me off they had the nerve to do it!

Suppose good excuse to buy a new driver!! Look on the bright side ay

Tempted to throw an iron at them, a between the legs shot to trip them? I'd have been full of hell. Little swines. Perhaps it was better that you didn't catch them as you may have got yourself into trouble. The law works in mysterious ways.

Hindsight is wonderful but you could have filmed them or taken a photo.

Definitely in hind sight I'm glad I didn't as I was chasing him with my wood haha

difficult seeing as though the lad had his driver!

sorry to hear about your troubles though mate, I unfortunately got mugged once on the golf course.
Never returned to the same course since...

Good point made by Stokie so we will swap a driver for 3 wood, need to keep the flight low. An improvement on my own suggestion Sawtooth, much cooler.

My 21 yo son re-enacts the punching the clown in the face scene everytime he goes to playfully punch someone for a being cheeky or whatever. "Uncle Buck poooooof!"

pretty bad though, report it to the police get a crime number, claim on insurance
