Just a quick question guys, why does a rival magazine never review Titleist products?. They excluded the driver and irons from their reviews. Im just being curious so if anyone knows please enlighten me.

Titleist ,I believe, prefer to supply product to a test that is aimed at the level of player they are after ie the "better" player.
They also like to custom fit to an extent - not much point in a hacker testing the latest blades.

See what you mean but why don't Mizuno do the same :D

Because Mizuno's are for golfing pretenders...... :(

Light fuse and retire...... :o

Because they get all the high handicappers on here to buy them and drool over them like the mp59 or what ever even tho they'll never be able to hit them.

I've lit the fuse but us Jocks never run :)

Mizuno make clubs for high handicap players aswell as the mp range that is aimed at the low handicappers. Whereas Titleist only realy make clubs for the "better players" rather than your high handicap hacker :)

In general, for hybrids, woods and drivers, Mizuno clubs, like others, come with a stock shaft, and then there are custom fit options.

For Titleist, there are more than one stock shaft, and their ethos is custom fit all the way. As a result they don't like supplying clubs for comparison tests, as the shaft may not suit. They also like their adjustable heads to be set up during a c/f session, rather than by fiddling by the end user.

Something to do with subjectiveness if that's a word! The tester will review what they liked and how clubs performed, which can be completely different to a person of same hcp etc. They wouldn't allow te balls to be tested a while back either I don't know if this has changed. It does seem odd though as free advertising etc and surely could get a tester set up correctly.

Which magazine are you talking about. Golf World regularly features Titleist product although its sister mag Todays Golfer rarely does. As others have said Titleist are very specific on who they think each model is aimed at. GM did a feature with some forum members a fair while back and Mike was very specific in handicaps and current specs in picking those who went

It was TG. Was shocked when they didnt include the 910 driver in their driver reviews or any of the irons in the irons review. I like Titleist myself and really wanted to see a review between the r11 and 910 driver.

Not sure how much the fitting element is part of the reason. Titleist head office is only 15 minutes down the road from the TG offices in Peterborough. I am sure that they could stretch to sending someone down the A1 to St Neots to ensure that they were fitted for a test driver.
