RIP Deborah James

Ditto…

Please, please, please, if you have any prolonged changes to your bowel habits, or bleeding, go and see your doc. I did, I got lucky.

Ditto, Ditto. I litterally sat on it for 6 months of crapping blood. 'it'll go away' IT WON'T.

I was extremely lucky and mine was not the big C, but it is a lifetime of drugs. Better than being dead.

RIP lady, you have inspired, touched, and hopefully saved many many lives.

It is very sad indeed, such an inspirational and brave lady.
We hear of so many people who don't make it from this horrible disease.

But there is hope, similarly there are countless "Survivors" too. Myself, my wife, quite a few friends. Have all come out the other side. As everyone touched by this will tell you, "Catch it early for the best chance of beating it"!

Well done Hobbit, Rooter and Spongebob ?.

RIP to a truly inspirational lady.

And I echo all those who say overcome your fears and get tested if you have any concerns about changes in your body or health.

Cancer is treatable. But it can’t be treated if it remains undiagnosed.

Get it done, folks. You may regret a positive diagnosis, but you’ll regret it even more if it’s eventually found too late.

Not just bowel cancer, but any cancer, if diagnosed early enough it is curable.
Fella’s, don’t be worried about going to see the doc about any strange lumps, bumps, or any other changes to your body that is not usual to you. Mine was lymphoma, if i hadn’t gone to see the quack when I did I wouldn’t be here now. That was 5 years ago and I turn 60 next week.
If you have any doubts about anything with your body then make an appointment with your doctor sooner, as later might just be too late.
We only get one go at this so make it last as long as you can.

I 100% support this. I was diagnosed 4 years back with prostate cancer, my cancer team looked after me until surgery was necessary and, after all that time and with Covid still around, had me in, and whipped out the prostate - it's a new lease of life!
Any symptoms that could be giving you trouble, bowel, stomach, weeing please dont shrug it off, or, be embarrassed- there is nothing that your doctor will not have checked for on countless occasions!

Anything that she has done to get people to look at their body more is all to the good. As everyone has said, if you're not sure, get yourself checked. My missus asked me to get a skin tag on my face checked. It turns out it was a carcinoma, and they removed a lump the size of a 50p piece from under my eye. Thankfully, they caught it in time.
