When I started secondary school there was a kid in my year who had some sort of issue with his knees. He couldn't really bend or straighten his legs properly and as a result couldn't run very fast. Somehow, the rumour got round that he'd been born with his legs back to front and had to have an operation to remove them and put them back on the right way round.

Also one from school. We had a stereotypical eccentric science teacher. There was a widely accepted rumour going round that someone had once walked into his science lab at lunchtime and discovered him dressed in purple robes worshipping the devil at a blasphemous altar he'd made on the lab bench.

Final one that that springs to mind for me. Girl from my school who was a very sensible and straight A student went off to uni. While she was there she turned into a wild child and in one single night (let herself down badly......this bit is a mod edit)

So what are yours? (Suspect most of any replies may originate from school days!)

There was a 20 page thread on here about this over the last few weeks, someone had heard that mcgregor was going to knock out floyd mayweather.😂😂😂

There was a ridiculous story going around that a footballer called Coutinho who plays for Liverpool had a bad back.

Funnily enough his bad back, or rumoured bad back coincided with a bid for his services from Barcelona.

Of course there were some who actually believed he had a bad back and could not play  ,there are even some that believe he is not for sale at any price[has that actually ever happened in the history of football.

Miraculously once the transfer was not going to go through for whatever reason the player recovered overnight so he could play for Brazil.

Of course there are still some that believe he will still not be sold, or will not be sold whatever the fee, these people still actually believe in father xmas also.

Delusional.

There is no doubt in my mind that if both parties were happy a deal would have been done, however fair play to Liverpool for keeping a player worth 60-70 million and turning down well over a 100 million.

Of course we don't know the sticking point we can only guess, he might not be sold this window but he will be I'm sure in the future.

Best come back with a decent offer that doesnt include stupid clauses like winning the Ballon d'or then:)

I started a rumour at work about my mate getting a massive promotion. It went that far that the director of the company pulled him aside and started giving him tips on what and what not to do .

Before anyone says, my mate was in on it and played along. The look on everyone's faces after months of letting it pan out was priceless
