Been having really bad time with iron shots, lots of mis-hits and eventually loss of confidence. Had session with Pro who achieved some improvement by changing my grip set up from Varden to Interlock.
I have been playing now for 40+years and my lowest handicap was 8.4 but now as Senior Veteran its 19, so, in my time Ive tried a few things to try to improve my game, probably beyond my capability.
I wasn't too comfortable using interlock grip, especially with driver and long irons and I tried a few shots using my putter grip set-up (reverse overlap) with surprising success. I'm in my second month of the grip change and now use it with Woods and Irons, my ball flight and contact is good and I have developed a slight fade with iron shots which I am happy with.

I do that as well, always have, not sure why. Have tried the others but I prefer the feeling of having all the fingers of my right hand on the club. Probably because I'm very right-handed generally.
