After several years away and lots of changes in both golf and personal life I wanted to say hi (and hi again) to everyone.
Just looking for some golf chat a bit of a laugh and some advice along the way
I already know where to stand which colour tees to use and if the holes should be bigger hoping for a nice welcome back and yes Imurg stole a half all those years ago. Thanks all

Did you stop playing golf and also returning to the sport ?
I stopped playing due to injury (a drink driver a brick wall and me in between). I now can walk again and want to start playing again. Some rounds may require a buggy depending how I feel on the day.

Christ that doesn’t sound good 😫 , good to hear that it seems you are on the mend 🤞

Cheers. Always the optimist. Could have been worse and now I have a reason to of never played in the open. Despite lack of ability. Living in Pompey looking for a decent club to join. Hayling seems the best option but please suggest any alternatives I may of mislooked. Handicap now about 128 and most importantly need some playing partners who will overlook a buggy and some bad days when 18 is too much (physical wise not mental wise). Always happy to share a seat and buy the first round 😀

Hayling is a superb course , might be a bit brutal in the wind during the winter ,

Stoneham is great but a bit closer to Soton

Cheers. Hayling is a really nice course but I am wondering if a year or so being a nomad and just playing some more easier courses might be better for me going forward. Also Parkstone & Broadstone both really appeal as do Blackmoor Liphook and Hindhead. That’s without Swinley the Berkshire and Sunningdale to consider. Then you start adding the Surrey courses like St George’s Hill and the 3 Ws. Plus many more I have not mentioned. The problem is they all have substantial joining fees which I would be against wasting if after 1year I was not happy. Who said too much choice is a good thing 😂

Parkstone waiting list is closed and Broadstone waiting list is longer than a long thing when it's long o_O

Waterlooville, Rowlands Castle, Cams Hall, Petersfield and Lee on the Solent all slightly cheaper options

Thank you. I was thinking while I recovered/my game improved/I got back in the swing. Then if somewhere had a long wait but was worth it I could join the waiting list then be a member elsewhere for a while (preferably without a joining fee). Open to all suggestions and ideas

The clubs you suggested are very spaced out, whereabouts are you actually based? Might be able to give you some better options.

I’m living in Cosham, Portsmouth. So the A3 and M27 are very accessible. I’m looking at courses within an hours driver approximately

Given your current physical state I would strongly recommend Bognor Regis. Lovely little course, always in great condition and totally flat so it's an easy walk for you. Very friendly club, always enjoy playing there. Nothing grand about it so expect the subs will be reasonable.

That is great. Thank you so much for the recommendation 👍

Southwick is close to you , but suffers during the winter .

You also have Hockley, Royal and South Winchester, Alresford , Corhampton , I think Lee may have a waiting list .

There are quite a few within a hour journey.

Good luck with your search mate 👍🏿👍🏿

Thanks mate.
You have not made it any easier. 😂
I am happy to travel about an hour either way as now retired and looking to play about 3 times a week,
Looking for a good bunch to have a laugh with.
Somewhere that wants you to call it home
Somewhere that is open most of the year
I am open to 2 memberships if 1 is really wet for 6 months but really worth it for the other 6.
