If you develop a problem with a club you purchased second hand or no longer have a receipt for, such as head rattle, shaft issue etc., can you return it to the manufacturer, or are you a bit in limbo?

I would say yes but be prepared to pay for it.
You may get lucky, I believe similar things have happened with Ping and Callaway clubs, all of which have been replaced FOC..
Try it and see what happens

I would expect you are in limbo but you can return and try

Guess would depend on the age as well

I bought a Ping K15 driver off eBay and shortly after, the head came off! Sent back to Ping via American Golf and they fitted a new shaft. Neither Ping nor AG charged me a penny - great service from both companies.

Ring the manufacturer and see what they say, got to be worth a phone call.

I recently returned my irons due to pitting on the shaft. No receipt asked for as I done it through AG and they had record of my purchase. All shafts replaced FOC.

I had a Nike VR pro driver bought second hand on ebay that I split the face and body weld when hitting a ball. Took it to my nearest Nike dealer pro shop and he sent it back to Nike. As it was a 3 year old driver they couldn't replace it and it wasn't repairable so they sent a credit note to the pro shop for £100 as compensation. I only paid £70 for it in the first place and he did a great deal on the Titleist driver I have now so it only cost me £30 for a brand new driver that suits me far better than the Nike club did.
It's always worth sending them back you never know what they will do.
