Return to UK Covid test

All of this is putting me off returning to Sweden.. don’t need the hassle especially given the Swedish numbers are so low and the UK government seems to think they are amber… makes you question the method of determining colours/risk levels.

I have been looking at this for my Dad, if you are double jabbed and you are returning to the UK from an Amber list country. you need only a 'day 2' PCR test. Very confusing, a huge list of suppliers, we took a punt on one. 58 quid per test, you order it 5 days before you arrive back and it gets delivered when you get home. you then send the completed test back.

I think I have done it right! Its not that simple!!!

Eh? I thought PCR tests were free? We've done them for free at drive through locations.

If you're in the UK and showing symptoms you can get a free PCR test at drive through centres. If you're returning from abroad you have to book and pay for a PCR test for day 2 after your return. Day zero is the day you get back. You can either go to one of the places on the government approved list or get a kit sent to your home to do yourself. Either way you will get an order number when you book and pay for it and will need this for the passenger locator form you have to fill in before you come back.
