so I have just secured a new job after spending the last few weeks contracting (not fun believe me). Its in Central London, a higher level than previous and thus comes with an excellent package.

Perseverance it seems is the key.

Anyhow this also means I will be able to play more golf and go fishing as overtime will no longer be a neccessity.

Oh yeah, my ebay account may be reactivated ;)

Absolutely over the moon tonight and having a couple of celebratory sherbets to celebrate :cheers:

Great news !
foxholer, sometimes it's a "them and us" situation, sometimes it's just not the work they promised, sometimes it's can you do this as well which is out of the contract. I am not saying it's always these things though and when a contract is going well it's great.

As I an IT contractor for 25 years, i know a bit about that role - I remember working my socks off on the first one as 'cost justification' and a telecoms company over here attempted to extract almost 2 days work a day. Most were absolutely fine with treatment almost identical to 'permies'. Just puzzled about what Steve's issue was.
