I hate that term - it suggests you only use them after a bad shot or to get yourself out of trouble.

I use mine all the time - off the tee at some par 3´s, off the tee at longer holes for position, off the fairways at par 5´s.

"Hybrid" is much better.

Agreed. Use mine as 2nd shot on Par5's for control & for longer par3'sor approaches if I want to fly it in high and land soft ( in theory haha)

My rescue club is normally a mid-short iron out sideways....

Call it anything you like, it has been a real godesend to me. I'm putting the old TM in the bag today as it flies a little higher than the Ping and with the course getting damper now with dew etc it should give me some extra carry

I have a TM too. Very nice.

Is it my imagination or do hybrids mostly look slightly closed at address. Mine does and I find it means I tend to hit a draw with it whereas my usual shape is straight....

Try the Titleist that sits open. I can use mine from anywhere with varying results!!

I believe they are called rescue as they are aimed at folks who cannot hit long irons, thus making them, "rescue" clubs.

Thats me then.

Yes in can look closed. But find it is ok with the ball more to the middle of the stance. Bit like an iron I think?

I have a Cobra Rail H 19* and the amount of draw on it is mind boggling. Even from the middle of the fairway, the ball has to flirt with flying way right over the rough before drawing back online. I think I may have the wrong shaft in it! :o

Shaft experts, I think it's got too much flex in regular... does that ball flight sound like too much flex?? It goes straight in the end, but only after a few seconds of me bricking it as it heads OB, before 30 yard curve back on line...

Over the summer I improved a lot with my longer irons, so I am using them less and less, but now that we are coming back into the winter and lots of wet lies, I'll probably be using them more again, particularly from the rough.
