Same place you would the 3 iron

The advice I was given was to forget that it looks like a wood and hit it like you would an iron - has proved to be sound advice.

Welcome along, why do you only use one club (2 now you have rescue ) when your allowed 14?. I am guessing that as your an older chap you want less baggage.

Where do you play, what clubs do you use, more info we all like to know. :one:

Same place as an iron. I put all my clubs in the same spot apart from the driver.

I found it better to keep the spot the same for a consistent setup, helped my longer clubs no end!

I was told when I had my lessons that optimal position is 7 iron to LW is middle of stance, then anything lower than a 6 Iron is one ball forward. So a 3 iron\hybrid should be roughly halfway from center stance and your heel.

52yo's should have the ball between half way between the middle of your stance and left heel with a hybrid.

Next year you probably need to move it forward a fraction

just forward of centre as you would with an iron. Play like an iron but enjoy the benefits of better launch and flight!

Play about with it once you are use to it and moving the position will help you launch it higher/lower and add versatility. For now keep it in one place, perhaps a ball and half or two balls inside the left heel and enjoy.
