I havent had one of these in my bag before, but me being a junior i have taken several out onto the range and found i hit them nicely.

Any suggestions and comments on rescue clubs you may own, have tryed out, or like the look of would be appreciated.

There is no limit on the price of the club.

Thanks in advance.
Liam

Well, one or two words of warning.

I own an MD EQL 21*3. It's amazing, but I've struggled with it. I tried one out before buying, presumed the "pushing" was because I hadn't got the feel of it, but too many go direct right for my liking.

I looked into things (see my other posts) and discovered a) the shaft was much heavier than my D and 3W and b) the swing weight is D3-4, which means it doesn't actually match the rest of my set.

There will be some folk on here that will scoff or take the p***, but as I hit my woods very straight (better than my irons) for an average player, I honestly believe I made a rushed choice. zzzzzz..... long story...

If you have graphite woods, please consider the specs on these before short-listing. for example.....the R7 rescue has 55g shafts and D0 swing weight, whereas the Burner series has 85g shafts and D3 swing weight....i.e. not exactly the same kind of spec. The Callaway X uses 85 gram shafts but the fusion and heavenwood use 65g or uniflex steel.

xxxxx.....zzzzzzz.....xxxxxx.

if you want to try my MD, I'll post it to you if/when I get another club....today's trip was not conclusive.

I have tried a few and liked the Baffler and Burner but could not justify spending that sort of money. Currently have an MD Eql, which I think is superb and great value for money, and an Orks Kii hybrid which is one of my most consistant clubs. I did own a Halo and found it to be pretty good but it had a 19 degree loft and found a 5 wood to be a better option.

On a slightly different tack, I am now have room in my bag for a 3 wood but do not want to spend massive amounts one. Anyone got any good recommendations from the lower cost brands.

i.ve been trialling a wilson staff DH6 - It feels powerful, as the head is quite heavy. Would recommend you give it a try as you can find them quite cheap

where have you been hiding GB72?

I have an EQL and am in need of therapy!!!

D'you have the prolaunch blue?

Dave GB70!

young liam ..
u need to get ur hands on the cleveland `halo` ..i`ve got the 19 deg 2/iron model..only thing i find is that it launches very high ..would suit u if u play on a inland course. euan

Been down South for a few days, drove back through the blizzards yesterday.

Yes, my EQL has a prolaunch blue and it seems to work for me. Hit a few good shots with it today.

So you rate it then!

I love it, such a great flight/feel/distance etc.

Maybe I should find a way to play around with the weights, or just twist my grip a little stronger (hood the face).
Last go tomorrow (on the course), if I can't fix it, I'll get rid or pass it on to someone who can use it.

i have the benross escape and had to close the face into my grip to hit it straight great on the mat but on the course i really struggle with it.

Seeing as no-one esle will, I'll give a big shout to Mizuno for their CLK Fli-Hi models. They really are the nuts.

Try, you might just be surprised...
