Is it possible to build in a reputation tracker, so other forum users can add positive and negative rep depending on the quality of the posts the user has added.

Its all well and good listening to someones guidance but its hard to judge whether they are worth listening to, with a reputation this may help us new users to judge who is worth engaging and who should just be ignored or corrected.

Thanks

There is already a 'Reputation' feature on the forum, however, we will not be implementing it. Experience shows it can be both abused and divisive.

Anyone frequenting and contributing to the community on a regular basis will know whom to 'engage'.

excuse me MR'Fat controller.

i agree with your point above whole heartedly, and think you are wonderful in every way.

now can we have thread preview back PRETTY PLEASE?

Phil

I'm sure we are all adult enough to be allowed to control ourselves. The majority of forums I've been on also include a feature which blocks frequent point giving to one individual to another.

Say if I took a dislike to you I could only negative feedback once a month but if you fancied me a bit as well you could only positive rep me once a month.

I'd feel it would be more beneficial than going off a signature handicap and post count.

ALSO, is it possible to increase posts per page to 20 and not 10. I get into a debate and then have to reload :(...

Having a website myself I am guessing alot of the features that we may see on some other sites (usually smaller or not as active) are turned off here to lessen the load on the server and keep the site operating as fast as possible.

It would surprise you how something you think is only a small simple thing can slow a website down and decrease page loading times.

Bingo. That and I believe our Forum isn't the only forum on the server it "sits" on - so there's a limited amount of space or whatever that we can use, hence you can have all the process/space hungry features.

If the Fatcontroller ever decides to implement it, you're first on my list for a negative for suggesting it.

yeah the forum software can take the thread preview even with much bigger more active forums, must be a server size issue.

BOOOO. ps its good for free.
