Guys,

Going on a splurge at American Golf this weekend and know they price match certain places.

I want to make sure I get best value for money and have checked Direct Golf, Online Golf and Navada Bobs.

Are there anyothers I should check before I hand my life savings over!!!

Just an idea.
Why splurge at AG when you may find your local pro shop will also price match?
Come on, dont give your hard earned to a large faceless high street shop, support your local pro!!! Believe me, he needs it.

Got to agree, at least give the pro the chance. I got new mizuno ironms last year fitted, and he matched the price of AG, and AG had already equalled the best online price.

One I would also price check out is Clubhouse Golf, they are often cheaper even than Direct Golf.

Not yet a member of anywhere and the three places I usually play don't have club shops. Hence lining the pockets of AG at the minute!

I wouldn't feel comfortable going to a local pro and asking for discount on a 1st meeting.

Give them the chance of equalling matey, pros work hard all year round doing more than selling clubs, most of it is giving lessons in freezing conditions. Pros I fear are heading the same way as corner shops. I still buy my meats from a local butchers etc and hate handing over loads of money to a company that only just opened up here (tescos, sainsburys etc) since the troubles ended where the local small vendors stuck in there through thick and thin, moral is, support your local shops.

Have to agree with Brendy, and for the same reasons, I intend to get AP2's soon, the local pro is the only person I will go to. She knows I wont go to any of th big stores but she still checks their prices and matches - and gives you free sleeve of balls etc - plus gives the odd piece of swing advice for nowt!! SERVICE - plus if you have a problem you just take them to the club rather than boxing, posting and having to wait.

Guys. i've been converted.

Just been told that a driving range near me has a good size shop so I am heading there after work.

I've some AG vouchers from my birthday so going to have to buy something from there, but if the pro shop works out they have a new customer.

I just found a little gem of a pro shop at the Bedfordshire Golf Club, they have almost as much stock as an AG and like you've stated I'm sure with a little conversation they'll be willing to price match other retailers.

Gorgeous driving range too if anyone is local. I'll be trying the course once the snow thaws as this is top of my list of courses to test out for membership.

Good lad, come over to the dark side -

What are you shopping for??
Deffinatly want a cart bag, probably the TM Monaco

Also wanting either a burner 3 or 5 wood. and there is a small chance I may get both.

I got a decent amount of Birthday money yesterday and the wife hasn't contributed yet, so I'm going to push my luck!!!

Here here. Its amazing what your pro will do for regular customers. There are certain things my Pro will do for me that work out cheaper then American does 51 weeks of the year.

If it's Garforth. I've heard a few good things about them.

Another nod towards club pros. Mine did my SC5 for £269 which at the time (last March was at least £30 less than RRP) and not much more than they are now. He did two pairs of Myjoys (Dryjoy and PODS) for £110 (basic RRP on plain shoe was £99.99) and he always chucks a sleeve of balls or something in. He'll always try and match a price and will order in.

With MWJ on this,I would not give em money
on principle. There is a AG near my club,so
our club pro has to compete with his prices
also a driving range where a bloke gives lessons
thats not a PGA pro.Just some bloke thats been on
some course, and people have lessons from him...
I always try & buy my gear from my club pro
or some local club pro.
