I know it's Thursday now but not really had a chance to post this week so far

After 6 holes and one point stableford my report card for last Saturday's sweep said.

FOR SALE
Titleist cart bag containing Mizuno irons and Ping woods, will keep the putter as my daughter likes me to take her to the local putting and crazy golf courses.

Did manage to keep going and with a bit of friendly advice from my playing partner managed 11 points on back nine.

Main problem was alignment and thinking too much about it !!
What a frustrating game it can be, but after a few days of reflection I am desparate to play this weekend.

What is the worst you have felt during a round ? hangovers don't count

When i bought my Di7's moons ago i lost 12 balls the first round i played with them.....I couldnt hit that thing out of my way if i tried. I wondered what the attraction of playing golf was....Patience took over and after a few rounds i was sold on the clubs and the game......Now i want to change them for FG Tours....Go figure.... :D ;)

I feel your pain 1 point is pretty demoralising however after recent posts you did well to stick at it.The reason most of us on this site are ameteurs is because of our inconsistency another day tommorow or whenever and im sure a better round.

I "CHUCKED" the game for two months after the Cumbrae Cup in Millport about 1998/99. In the aternoon I hit 16 greens in regulation and had 43 putts.

Got to the stage I couldn't even take the putter back.

I had 4 points after 4 in the January stableford but ended up with 34 and came 2nd. I guess though if its not your day it ain't your day. Consign it to the history books and come out firing next time

Worst start I think I've had is 3 points after 6.

Wasn't feeling too good about golf at that point but managed to get back to 36 which made me feel a lot better.

Really was a bad start, just couldn't do anything the looked anywhere near golf. 6 scary holes.

TBH though, the only time I usually feel bad out there is with a hangover. I don't mind playing bad or not great when I have a clear head, mind you good golf does seem to happen a lot more too!

7 points total around the Brabazon.
3 out, 4 in. Christ that front nine was tough.

A tip if you are playing there.....

DO NOT VISIT THE BEL AIR NIGHT CLUB THE NIGHT BEFORE A BIG GAME

Was 3 down after 3 holes in last years Summer Knockout and my opponent hadn't even taken his putter out of the bag.

Managed to get it back to 1 down but finished up losing 3 and 2. The guy went on to win the tournament.

If only I could start better, was 2 down after 2 holes, and 5 down after 9 in the Winter Knockout and ended up losing on the 18th.

on our golf trip in oct(see pic) i didnt even make double figures for first 9 of the rained of first day, when we resumed the back nine 2 day later, i amassed another 14 pts for a dreadful 23! didnt actually score more that 31 till the last day when i scraped together 39!

I've been like that since I was 11.
If I could putt I'd be dangerous - in fact according to SS2 most competition rounds my stat's suggest I drive & hit GIR like a 0-5 handicapper but putt like a 20 handicapper.

Last year I 4 putted in the Presidents Putter qualifier 3 times yet still finished 3 under my handicap.

I've had too many rounds where I've finished with 8 or 9 inch long putts for par from 6 to 10 feet. If a few of them dropped & I didn't 3 putt the other greens I would easily come down.

So many players who get off to a bad start give up too easy who knows what the next few holes can bring,i think this is along the lines of the post posotive thinking some people are quitters some people are winners you have just got to decide which category your in[simples]

I know Bob, I've had a few lessons since and got a shorter putter. Both of which have helped no end - but I still hate putting. In fact I'm frightened of it :(

Technically, apparently my putting stroke is fine. But I just can't do it - especially those 2 footers that go left to right.
