Been thinking for a while to replace my hybrids for the summer and bring in some long irons

Been looking online for ages but just haven't been able to find a 3 or 4 iron

One of the pros suggested that I tried his Mizuno MP Hi Fli

Picked them up yesterday and immediately hit them like a dream - what cracking clubs they are , massively imoressed with. Tried them again today and still great clubs - have taken the plunge and they are on order !

Anyone else use them or taken the plunge from hybrids to irons ?

Tried them out last year mixed with a set of MP-52's and they worked great. Had the 2-iron and 3-iron shafted up with the same shafts and they both worked very well. A bit shorter in overall distance than an equivalent hybrid or 5 wood, but the ability to hit high or low and work the ball a touch is welcome. I wish I still had the finesse to use a regular iron with a slimmer sole profile, but I'm afraid I'm getting on a bit. As far as I know - Luke Donald is bagging one or two this week instead of his normal hybrid.

I see the logic but I guess it depends on the course and the person. Is there any argument for keeping the hybrid due the higher flight? Does this mean they would stop quicker?

I have a 3 iron and a 2 hybrid, if I played a links or similar course I would swap them but if I played a parkland course I think the hybrid would stay.

Precisely the reason Luke is doing the same this week.

I've never moved away from long irons. Dabbled with hybrids in the past but always gone back to irons. I play mainly links courses and carry a FliHi 2 iron, easy to hit off a tee or fairway.

I've never really had hybrids.

Sure I've just sold on my 19° 910H but I've always had 3 and 4 irons as I've always preferred them to hybrids.

I've hit the MO Fli-Hi and H4 and found them excellent.

The H5 model is due out soon too

carry a 3 and 4 iron, also carry a 17 degree hybrid which fills the gap from them to Driver (no 3 wood currently), last few years theyve basically got me round the golf course, slowly getting back to hitting driver more though, even more so after todays lesson :) If i could only carry one it would be the long iron not the hybrid though!
