Looking for a bit of info on it as the website seems a bit messed up,

First off im joining playsport in eastkilbride for this season to get a handicap and to hone in my irons (very short course) up until i can afford to get all my own clubs (using the old mans whilst i assemble a set) :) but i have looked at renfrew golf course and it looks very challenging and i like that it has a good bit of water in play .... So i was wondering if anyone could tell me the yearly membership rate (23years old) and if there is a waiting list? :)

And if anyone here plays at playsport then say hi if you say me :)

Wouldn't touch Renfrew with a bargepole. Its under water 3-4 months of the years when the Clyde comes up over it. Its also a boring slog with long par 4 after long par 4 as well as some poor dog legs. Very over rated course in the past which has given it a better reputation than it deserves.

Where do you stay if your looking at Renfrew?

Thanks for the input, exact reason I posted this :) Obv if I phoned up the club they would of never told me that :)..... I stay in Cambuslang...... I used to be a member there but I have played that course to death when I was 14.... 4 rounds everyday in the summer, the surrounding courses are all almost double the cost of playsport and I need somewhere I can get the rounds in bulk to get my consistency down...... Liked that renfrew was 5 mins along the new motorway though!

Ive just noticed where your from, know of the shankland family? :) long time friend I went to uni with stays in lochwinnoch :o

Cambuslang. If I were in your boots Cathkin Braes all day long although I appreciate its pricey, but worth it. Sandyhills is another that's always decent.

If you want to come South side.

Old Ranfurly
Ranfurly Castle
Fereneze

choices are endless really.

I stay between cambuslang and east kilbride ... Actually i stay about 50metres from kirkhill golf course lol....... Ive just had a look at east renfrewshire golf club and it looks brilliant, I love the idea of being up in the moors away from it all with a body of water around :) cathking braes looks not bad however there are no prices on their website, id also be a little wary of being stabbed by the neds that are local to the area :/ (went to school with most of them and the ones who arent in jail are off their banger! :))

You'll get no trouble at Cathkin.

Have emailed to enquire about membership.... :) Really like that east renfrewshire layout though shame about needing 2 Proposers as I currently know no one in my area who even plays golf let alone out there :(

Having just scoped out cathkin hole by hole it does indeed look a brilliant course.... however the tight tree lines and harsh gorse can definately wait a year until im a bit more consistent off the tee :D
