I was watching a Mark Crossfield vlog playing this golf course,it looks pretty exclusive
so I was wandering if they do "opens" during the summer.
Are there any members on here or has anyone played in any.
It really looks a tough track

I don't think they do opens, but could be wrong. They're set up more for corporate days and charity days, I get emails all the time inviting me to charity pro ams at £600 a team.:o

It's not a bad a course, but it's not great. You're better off at parkstone, broadstone and ferndown if you fancy a bit of dorset golf. Id also rather play isle of purbeck

They have dug up all their greens and are in the process of relaying them. My club has annual home & away matches with them, they have asked that their home match be delayed until September next year.

Thx guys.

Don't think I would pay £90 to play anywhere unless for HFH.
Thx Nick will look at the others you mentioned.
Anthony your a lucky guy to have that as a match venue.

I played there last year and really enjoyed it! Loads of really picturesque holes and a properly memorable course.

I think we had a bit of a deal as we played with a large group of us but can't remember specific prices.

Would definitely try to get on it if you can (when their greens are back up and running!)

Remedy is a nice course but I don't think it is quite at the top end. The layout is pretty good, but the holes which stick in the mind longest do so because they are bad holes, and appear to have been shoved in to a space too small for them. For example the 18th is a par 4 with a tee shot up to a level area followed by a 90 degree turn to a green at the bottom of a slope over water. But the tee shot is too fiddly and leaves few options and the whole thing looks like it was contrived to give a nice vista from the clubhouse. The 8th is also a terrible hole, a par 4 of 260-odd over water to a green on a sharp slope. But the carry over the water is not very attractive so you are forced to lay up with a 7 iron off the tee. Finally the 2nd, a par 5 down a hill. The water is too close to the green, so everyone lays up into the same area, and the only advantage of a good tee shot is that you lay up with less club. Not a risk-reward hole for 90% of players.

There are some nice holes elsewhere and the course is generally in great condition, with a nice clubhouse and practice facility. It used to be on the (formerly Nike) Amateur Tour roster. Maybe still is.

Played it quite a few times as a friend of mine is a member there. Nice course but not all it's cracked up to be. As Ethan says above, there are too many contrived holes but also some very good ones as well. Biggest problem is the routing of the course, it is an extremely long walk even playing off the forward tees. Greens are also very deceptive, they look as if they are going to be very quick but generally they are not much more than medium pace.

If you get the chance to play it as a guest for £50 it is worth it but any more than that and I'd think twice.

I know a couple of guys who are members there , no opens that i know off , greens have been dug up and relaid , its in top 100 in England , how i dont know ...............as its not that great a course , owners also owner Canford Manga

Played there once towards the end of the year. Was grateful to get an invite, but not overly impressed if I'm honest.
Very, (very!), boggy, and as others have said, a few "Micky Mouse" holes.
Plus, my lunch came dressed with a ginger pubic hair.

Holy Thread Revival....

Played here this week on the 'New' greens.

It is in a beautiful setting (which is also code for the middle of nowhere). Very picturesque. The electronic gates and long drive exude exclusivity (as does the green fee)

The welcome is warm and understated. A bit 5 star hotel if you know what I mean. Beautiful views, manicured fairways. Greens need more time I think - but they were OK - just nothing special.

The course itself has a bit of length, but as Ethan pointed out above - a couple of holes are contrived - and contrived by somebody who didn't really know what he was doing.

On 7 you are faced with a choice of golfer (short iron) or muppet (driver into water) - a potentially really exciting hole turned into short iron/wedge/putt/putt. (or putt putt putt :-) )

Was it a good day? Yes. Was it worth the green fee? Not really.
