Anyone know how to get the remains of an old cleat out of a shoe? This has happened to 4 or 5 of them and it's making my expensive Ecco shoes unusable!

If you remove the studs regularly and clean the grit out this doesn't happen. Of course this doesn't help you now but will in future :D

Warm a flat screwdriver in a flame .
burn this into old cleat allow it to cool should come out easy .

the other method is get a left handed thread screw and force it into cleat.
In work we used what's called an easy out it's designed to remove bolts where head has sheared.

It makes a huge difference doing this, I was amazed at how much muck can get into the cleat/screw housing etc.
