I use to be a blade man but my stroke got so poor over the years I use the spider (is that classed as a mallet?) to help. I'm pretty sure my putting lessons and hard work will see my old blade back in the bag for the summer

I've never got on with the bladed Anser style putter. Something to do with the weighting. If the putter is toe heavy every time I make a stroke I can feel the head wanting to go left. With a Face-balanced mallet I feel I can keep the head going where I want it.

I putt with a blade/anser style putter. That said, I don't like a hosel that just ends, so I need a swan neck.

I think I could putt with a mallet, if it was a redX type, not your usual mallet lump.

Just personnal preference really.

Looking at the Malasian open on the telly, there are plenty of pro's using mallet/Spider/ugly lumps on display.

I used to use a ping answer but just couldnt convert anything 10ft and closer. It really irked me cos my long game was spot on at the time , so I went for the 2-ball and havnt looked back. I love the alignment and putts started dropping. I have tried blades on the putting green but they just seem wierd these days

hapless', while you've got all this time, you need to redesign the poll as it won't do what you want, which | think is to prove/disprove the statement.

incidentally - blade

I don't mind to me both have their merits and I can get on with both styles. I am currently using a BC3 though which is a small mallet head- closer to a blade though than an out and out mallet.

I use a half mallet. I feel left out :(

I've ticked mallet as my answer though as I don't think I could use a blade.

I also agree that this poll probably isn't going to lead to any particular conculsion, you should have 4 or 6 (if you factored in mid handicaps aswell) options.

High handicap (15+) - Mallet
High handicap - Blade
Low Handicap (0-14) - Mallet
Low Handicap - Blade

I cant putt with anything!!

I use a mallet currantly and my length is not bad, but my line is all over the place.

So I tick mallet, but need to take a serious look at my putting.

2 ball for me, purely for alignment issues that Ive always had with blades. I dont think the putter shape matters to be honest, A pro will use whatever tools that will get the job done with minimum fuss.
