How often do you guys regrip your clubs, what do you pay, any preference to grip and anyone do it themselves? I need to get my clubs regripped but nobody seems to beable to get the grips locally or at least they are higher priced than my local pro.

Local pro wants £7 for fitted Golf pride multi compound in red. Seems very reasonable except he can't get them at present as neither he, his supplier or the factory have any in stock. Another local course reported the same problem. I am trying to get them done before my hol on June 12th. I don't want to pay much more as i might as well get in done in the US then.

I changed mine this year for the first time in 5years. I only had my set of irons done and the lad at the range i use charged me £6 each fitted for the red mid size m/c grips.

I think £7 is an average price

I normally get them done every two years primarily because of economics (can't really afford to keep getting them done). I have to say the TM golf pride ones have lasted pretty well to date which might be due to the fact hey are getting cleaned regularly.

Brendy's right....Ebay is the way to go!

And when you've taken delivery of your new grips and tape, go on the mizuno website to the tour workshop and watch the vid of how quick and easy it is!

Or youtube.....loads of 'how to vids' on the net....simple.

I regrip woods and irons about once a year, as for putters....i don't keep one in the bag long enough to need regripping! :D

Gamola Golf is the best place for grips. Try the Sharpro range. They're every bit as good as Golf Prides compound grips. Then just do it yourself! It's such an easy job once you get the hang of it and much more satisfying.

I use http://www.golfgrips-direct.com/ normally -very good service, I have used ebay and got a load of fake callaway ones that wouldn't fit over the shafts so be careful.

Another very good grip shop that does use ebay too is www.gamolagolf.co.uk - he stocks everything and delivers within 2 days normally.

I would regrip once per year and have done loads of clubs, its pretty quick and easy to do. Make sure you get solvent activated strips and not water based ones - far far easier. You dont need to buy fancy solvent, just use white spirit or petrol (if you can stand the smell for a day or so).

The lowdown is you can save yourself a lot of shots with new grips becuase you need only grip lightly with a new grip which is good for the swing.

I get all my grips from Graeme at Gamola.....he does me a great deal on my Lamkin sof cords. you just need to decide on grip size (.580 or .600) and how many layers of tape you need.

I like .580 ribbed (hard to get now) on my stiff shafts (.600) with 2 layers of tape.

Grips are very important and must be kept clean and changed every season if worn and shiny, the price off a green fee is a small price to pay.

I have no problem doing the grips myself (as an assistant many years ago it was all I use to do most days) but I'm happy that with regualar cleaning I can get 18 months to two years wear without negatively impacting my feel or grip on the club
