Regripping

2.50 a grip approx.

Charged me that when I brought in a putter grip recently. was kind of hoping they would stick it on for free. it was the manager who served me. one of the lads might have done it for free.

I think it depends how many your having done, if your having one done they usually charge full price plus fitting.
If you having a full set done , or all your wedges or all woods then yeh usually just pay for the grips and the labor would be throw in.

You brought your own putter grip in and expected them to fit it for free??

Or you bought it from AG?

I know a couple of the guys in there. Buy stuff in there regularly. had the tape. I just wanted someone with experience to do it for me. Its a simple enough thing to do. I also had no qualms paying the couple of quid. would have been a nice gesture.

There are plenty of pros who would do the odd job for free. Ive had lie angles done free of charge before.

Yes £2.50 + price of the grips unless you have an American Golf club card where they will do it for free and just charge for the grips which start at about £5.

On a similar note, how important would people suggest it is to have a good condition grips?

Yeah I hear what you're saying. But I just couldn't see a big company like AG doing that for free

First point is correct, I had the same experience a year ago. Second point: you should change your grips at the start of every season. I find it makes a real difference.

Good condition grips make a huge difference. Putting new grips on revitalises your clubs nearly the same feeling as new shineys.

most club pros will fit for free if you buy the grip from them, Im sure AG charge to fit them as I remember seeing a price list where they do all the regripping etc at AG in clydebank

Just had my clubs regripped at AG, bought the grips there, fitted for free
