Hey guys,
I am looking for a bit of advice!
I am currently about to buy a set of new grips! As it would cost 50 euro to get them regripped at my course i am thinking i can do it myself! There are videos and guides around and i can easily get hold of the tape and spirit! Me and my dad will do it together! Has anybody tried this themselves? If so how easy was it? Also does anybody know any special tips or tricks?
Thanks
Jordan

hi mate, it is pretty straight forward, make sure and use proper grip tapethough, not just double sided tape as some sites say.
I have done my irons and driver and 3 wood, just oredered some for the wedges there, I quite enjoy it tbh.

Good luck

It is pretty straightforward. My only tip is to make sure you take some time to make sure it is lined up straight. Otherwise easy peasy and there's always the satisfaction of a good job done yourself

make sure you clean the old tape off, once grip is on tap the top of the grip against the ground to make sure the grip is fully on the club, line up grip then leave for 1/2 hour or so to let the white spirit evaporate. simples.

Though for €50 it might not be worth the hassle

You do mean €50 for the grips and fitting them right? otherwise thats alot maybe im being stupid but the first time i got my clubs regripped it cost about £15 to fit them.

as for tips it is pretty easy just make sure you mesure how far down the tape needs to go so that none is showing beneath the grip.

To make the job less messy, pour the white spirit into the grip, swirl round and pour it back in the bottle. Then stick the newly taped shaft IN the bottle of white spirit and swirl again. Much less mess.
VERY IMPORTANT
To make it look good, make sure the grips are all the same length as it's easy to stretch the grip as you slide it on.
Get the first one right and then adjust the rest so they are the same length as the first one. :D

You must be reading my mind, was just about to put a post on this before i saw this :D
Regripping clubs for me does seem to be the cheaper option, i have already bought grips for about 45euro off gamola golf and i have asked two club pros how much it would cost to get 12 clubs regripped, one charged 30euro and the other charged 5euro per club, twice as much as the other pro!
If i got the grip tape (for 50-60) clubs, the vice and the solvent (quart bottle) off gamola golf it would total up to just under £25 including delivery which in the long run it would be a lot cheaper anyway. Also, i feel as if I would enjoy regripping clubs!
A question I have is can I just use white spirit from a DIY store instead of using the "special" solvent? Thanks

What a great tip! I had the white spirit dripping all over the place.
