Recovery time

Hi All - Has any body out there had a hernia op? I'm having one at the end of the month (double hernia repair using laparoscopic key-hole surgery) and I'm wondering how long it's going to be before I'm hacking my way around the course again. The consultant suggested I won't be able to drive for 2 weeks, but my driving's never been that good!

I'll be interested to hear. I'm seeing the specialist at the end of the month to see if mine can be done laproscopically. 2 weeks beats the 8 week recovery time for open surgery.

Got three inguinal hernias but while they aren't causing any issues I'm reticent to get them done. Hope the surgery goes well

Mine are inguinal as well. I kept playing for a few weeks after they first made an appearance but have had to stop now. (Feels like someone's swinging on my b*ll*cks after a few holes.)

I had a hurnia op
i was walking "slowly to the corner shop after two days, going to the gym weight training within 10 days ( taking it VERY, VERY easy) and back playing golf after 40 day's

The doctor told me not to go nutts but sitting it out is the worse thing you can do

Ah well - sounds as though I won't be playing over the Christmas break. Actually, since I'll have to swing a bit easier once I start playing again, maybe my game will improve!
