recording from your lap top

Is there a way to record from my pc to my DVD hard drive recorder, which has Scart socket inputs , but no HDMI in only out.
I can play my pc straight to my TV ok, but I would like to be able to record some things .
Any ideas

HDMI to SCART conversion cable would be my best guess if SCART is the DVD Recorder's only input.

You won't get sterling quality as the ability of SCART is limited.
