Hi guys

I’m in the market for a second hand 3 wood and 2i/3i hybrid. I don’t want to pay too much if I can help it, but don’t want to go super cheap.

I like to hit 3 wood off the floor, so a smaller head is necessary.

I usually like to stick to bigger brands, like TM, Titleist, Callaway etc.

Can anyone recommend any models to look at? I’ve seen a few R11 3 woods and wondered if they’re any good?

Cleveland Launcher is a good fairway wood IMO, I love my 17* 4w, you pick them up dead cheap on evilbay.

If you are sticking to bigger brands on a budget, the g25 range of fairways and hybrids were very solid and really good off the deck. If you want to look outside the big brands the Adams tight lies 2 fairways and hybrids are fantastic off the deck, very easy to launch and go for peanuts in good condition on eBay.

I have a TaylorMade V Steel 3 wood @ 15° and 5 wood @ 18° that I'd sell.
I also have a TaylorMade 16° MID Rescue club.
All have TaylorMade M Flex Ultralite graphite shafts and good conditioned Golf Pride grips.
If you're interested, PM me an offer!

A very personal thing i would've thought, as is the case with most things golf! What i like, you may not.

I'd suggest you take a bit of time to try a few out and see what you like the best. As you say, you can't really go wrong with the big brands.

so basically, everyones loves their own 3 wood and would recommend it to you (until it ends up on the naughty step then theyll recommend you a new one ;) )

Go hit a few, see what takes your eye, there is very little actual difference between the clubs these days (popcorn anyone?)

Woah there, I did not recommend mine brother! But yes if you can, going to find out for yourself is ovbviously best but he has obviously asked for opinions for a reason.

Taylormade, Ping and Adams have been the ones that come up regularly.

My only concern with the Adams ones, is that they're not that great from the tee when you do use them there.

The only problem I have with Taylormade and Ping is choosing which model to get, there's that many from TM especially! I've been looking at an R11 on eBay, but then realised this was released in 2011, and can probably get something newer for not much more.

Thanks for the recommendations guys.

I really like my TM Jetspeed 3 and 4 Hybrids , very easy to hit

go try the clubs! seriously. I had a go with an aeroburner and with a calloway xr. Simply couldn't hit the aeroburner. didn't like the way it looked behind the ball and was chunking it 150yds. Picked up the calloway and straight away 200yds. couldn't fault it. My friend however was completely the other way round, couldn't hit the XR loved the Aeroburner. so definitely try them out!!
