I've just bought a callaway ft9 tour authentic driver head and am looking to put a shaft in it. I currently use a proforce v2 shaft in my imix ft9 tour. Like the shaft but don't want to remove the imix adaptor.i could buy another v2 but would like to try something different and to keep cost down a shaft that is perhaps no so well known. I don't like the Rip shafts and I'm wanting low to medium trajectory .335 is the tip size wanted.cost wise no more than £70

the diamana Ahina is a BEAST of a shaft. need to have a high swing speed though 98+

Only had swing speed done on inside monitor and it said 97 average and carry was 220 plus roll but sure the figure were wrong as our range has a board at 240 and I can carry the ball over that.

Ahina is the 'next generation' Whiteboard. Both Low Launch Low Spin. Nice feel though. My wimpy 95-97 could still load a WB X flex - in an FTiZ - better than a Stiff Protopype!

As for what you should try. You need to give a bit more info.

Is the current shaft the normal V2 or the HL? What weight? What flex? What flight are you getting lnow? What flight are you looking for? Swing Speed? Height? Weight? Tempo? Transition speed? Late/Early release?

i'd try the ahina then. stats sound the same as mine and its changed my long game by a MAH-USIVE amount. but........it is a pricey shaft

V2 is normal v2 stiff flex not high launch shaft spec is weight 67g, 2.9 torque ,mid stiffness 7.0 ,tip stiffness 30,tip parallel 4.9,tip .350 getting a medium flight. I could get the same shaft as I currently use but am willing to try something different but still want a mid flight. I have a smooth tempo not sure on release.

See my PM re contacting MGL.

Blueboard 63 or 73 or Kai'li 70 would seem a good fit in the slightly exotic.

Had considered offering my Code 6 SX currently in an FT3, but MGL has 'first dibs' on that! :D

Fujikura Motore F3 that I have in my G20 is very similar to the Diamana blueboard 63 and Proforce V2 I had in other drivers. The blueboard and motore have a less boardy feel though and feel very smooth.

I've got motore f1's in all my woods, still get a good mid flight but so much feel and response it's un true, I've got the real deal versions, can be picked up well within your budget used, not a lot more new either

Thanks for all your replies. I have been offered a mitsubishi diamana D+ 72 x 5ct sm which I'm tempted to try. Need to get a ferrul from gamola now and I will be sorted.

These will take off over here in my opinion, they have a bit of a cult following in the states already.

Very good price and possibly worth a punt.

As Etnan says the Prolaunch Red by Grafalloy is the other obvious candidate.

Thanks Craw
I have just ordered a excaliber 6 + stiff shaft and will have to do a review after a few hits.raw length is 46 inch so will need to cut it.any suggestion is it just a inch off the butt end or is that still to long. Can't find any info about cutting on net.?
