On a recent trip from US to Europe I was reading an article in GM about coloring the tees and eliminating the gender specific tees. Can anyone provide me with a link to that article as I would like to show it to our Greens Committee at my golf club. BTW, we have colored tees but they are informally called "Ladies tees" or "Men's tees". Usually in the US ladies tees are red and men's tees are white. Blue is for Championship and black is for Professional.

Bearwood Lakes has black tees, at about 6850 yards, white tees at about 6480, yellow tees, 6280 and red tees at 5480 yards.

None of these are designated as men's or women's, although the women generally play off the red tees and the men off white for competitions. But any player can play off any tee they like outside any comp which specifies a certain tee.

As it should be - no gimmicks required.....

As discussed in the previous thread the issue is different things to different people/clubs.

Losely;

which Tees am I permitted to play from (do I have a choice!) in my social golf

Competitive golf - are the Tees rated for both Mens and Ladies competition

Which Tees do your committee use for competition?

After that it's all about egos and association, and you don't change that with delineation or rules
