Hi guys looking at getting my first premium pack of golf balls now I can finally keep it on the fairway don't want to go all out splashing loads on pro v 1's but looking for something that will give me a better feel than the lake balls I've been using for the last 6 months any suggestions?

anything other than the Wilson DX range......they're not premium balls afaiac.........

but then again, what is?

if price is a factor then buy on price, if feels the factor; go out and feel a few....it really is down to you.

Try Pearl Pro V lake balls

If that's what you are playing already, then you won't get an enormous improvement with new ones.

NXT Tour S are a very good, quite reasonable ball. I prefer them to Pro Vs.

Other try a sleeve of prospective ones.

The 2012 version of the Srixon Z Star was available for around £20 a dozen from various outlets, have a google search to see if you can find them. Very good all round ball.

Clubhouse definitely a decent option.

If you actually want a premium ball then they have prev years Z Stars or B330s for approx £20 a dozen, if looking just for a mid range ball then the Bridgestone XFixx at £20 for 2 dozen a decent option

Beat me to it Steve.

Another vote for Clubhouse

Got 2 doz of last years Z stars for £38, not sure they have any now but think the Nikes are that price

Edit.. also saw golf depot had some good offers, think they are doing e6 for £12.50 or Z Stars for £22.50

I bought a pack of those new Dunlop NZ9 ones the other day out of interest, now whilst I'm no tiger woods when it comes to skill - I was really impressed and thought they were excellent value for money (and the added bonus that it doesn't hurt so much when I loose yet another ball in the thick stuff)

Lake balls are recovered from the bottom of lakes, mainly in America.
How long they have remained at the bottom of the lake in America is anybody's guess.

I tend to play with Titelist SoLo's because I like them.

Have you tried the new Wilson Staff DX2? I did recently and they are a seriously good ball.

Z Stars for £22.50 at Golf Depot?

I will have some of that......Oh wait, yet another company that rips off people living in Northern Ireland, £19.99 delivery to another part of the U.K is nothing short of theft.

How come most mainland based companies think its ok to rip off people living over here.

Yet another company on the "won't use" list

Thieving gits

That is quite disgraceful. Shame on a government who do not prohibit this type of trading.
