A simpler solution would be to do away with greens books completely for professional tournaments.
Totally agree. All that will happen now is that Bryson et al will have their caddy transferring the old info into the new books. Do away with them altogether if you really want players to return to the old skills.
 
Doesn't BdC use a Trackman (or similar) on the practice green to gauge the speed prior to his round? Wil this still be allowed? Looking at the new rule, I suspect not.

You mean as well as a theodolite, altimeter, soil analysis kit, hygrometer. thermometer, optical gyroscope and an app for identifying blades of grass?
