I know it's an ancient club, but I like the head. So I borrowed a G10 3 Wood at the weekend, with a stiff shaft. Initially thought it felt a bit broom handle like in comparison to my Regular G10 Driver (both TFC 129 Shafts). Used it for the whole round and discovered the following :-
1. It goes nearly as far as my driver (Avg for driver is probably around 265)
2. Accuracy was miles better, a lot less dispersion
3. Ball flight was much lower (Driver is 9.5 and 3 Wood flies lower !!).
So now I am thinking that a stiff shaft in my Driver may be a good investment, a trip to get some measurements done is planned, but has anyone every swapped the shaft in a G10 and if they went from R TFC129 to a "stiffy" what shaft did they select ?
