Re-runs of the Ryder cup

Watched one last night - 2004 at Oakland Hills.

I said to Mr mimms that we could save a lot of time over the next few days by just waiting until they produce this year's summary and watch that instead!

yes, the behind the scenes at Gleneagles is worth it, you really get a sense of the atmosphere.

Cant really watch the old RC's as its in square format and fuzzy on a big HD Plasma

Watched the one of Oak Hill 1995 the other day. Seve in tears hugging Nick Faldo after Nick had won his singles against Curtis Strange. That's how much it meant to him. Brilliant.

Watched every single one :D

And then a few more twice :D

Ryder Cup is my favourite sporting event ( unless Liverpool are in the CL Final )

Got them on in the background at work, great listening/viewing, just a shame about the USA's disgusting behaviour in 1999 when Justin Leonard sank a long putt and far too many americans were whooping and trampling the green in the mistaken belief that they had already won when in fact Olazabal had a putt to keep the tie alive, hopefully nothing so unseemly at Gleneagles from either side.

Watched them all in the last week, Mrs Break90 is starting to lose the will to live (and starting to realise the benefit of having TV's in other rooms in the house).

I think my favourite is Valderrama, closely followed by K Club and Celtic Manor. Oh then theres Medinah........

Also really enjoyed the Medinah Memories series on Quest, and the Ian Poulter -Europe's Postman was a good watch as well. And the 3D highlights from the final day at Medinah are unbelievably good, can't wait to watch Sunday's action in live 3D.

Recorded the History of The Ryder Cup last night to watch later, and looking forward to the Celeb Stuff on tomorrow afternoon before the opening ceremony.

Dont worry dear, it'll all be finished by Monday.............

Its interesting how many players from both sides seem to have dropped off the radar - Anthony Kim, JB Holmes etc

Will be very surprised to see Anthony Kim play pro golf again

Looking for a injury compensation settlement

Think JB Holmes had a Cancer scare

But loads of others - Vaughan Taylor , Brett Witterich , JJ Henry

Yes read that somewhere recently.
Kim may never play golf again due to a 20 million insurance policy if he can never play
golf again due to injury.
Wether his injury is career threatening could take some proving.

I wonder if I could get a policy like that?

Of course it would have to be "can never play golf again due to being rubbish"

I don't think it's in 3D this year, unfortunately.

Just watching the 2010 replay and getting choked up (again)! Something so special about The Ryder Cup and can't wait for it to begin...

Yes, I watched the 2004 re-run last night and really enjoyed it. The things I noticed most, amongst all the brilliant play:
1. Garcia, making loads of superb putts!
2. Great sportsmanship, Clarke and Davis congratulating eachothers play in the height of battle.
3. McGinlay, looked a great player.

wonder why Sky arent showing the practice days ( I dont mean the snippet highlights) as they have cameras there and they have a 24/7 dedicated channel for the RC

It's never part of the deal signed by Sky

The tours would like them to stay pure for the fans on the ground
