Have just power washed our patio having been nagged by the Mrs for most of the summer.

as expected, it looks completely different and much much better, however (also as expected) a lot of the pointing has come out of the joints.

so what do you recommend to re-point it with?

lots of options from sharp sand, sand and cement mix, ready to go resin mixes? Patio is probably 20-30 square meters in size.

Also, there are one or two of the flagstones that need re-setting, it's been down around 10 years so no surprise. How and with what

.thanks in advance

I use a
2 sharp sand/Grit sand
2 building (grey)
1 cement.

Mix semi dry with some waterproofer in the water.

Pointing trowel & handboard.

if you're just an average diyer that Geofix is pretty simple and effective to use. It comes premixed so no messing on that score. Only downside is cost, more than double of pinseekers advice.

relaying flags, I'd just use a weak 6:1 sand cement mix. again if you're not competent or comfortable doing it the traditional way, lay the flags on plenty of dots, that should get the job done. May be worth hiring a maul as well

IMO it's better to go with "paid for convenience" if you don't have the experience.

If you mess it up it will cost 3x for someone to come in and put it right.

Cheers, I was erring more towards a mix than a sand/cement job.

Cost is absolutely not an issue, but thanks anyway for your words of caution.....
