Hi just pm Alan ( dodger) about a re-match Scotland v England.
Alan is of to the Algarve tomorrow so he has asked me to do a post to see if there is any interest in doing it again at Goswick Golf Club maybe same thing as before 2 rounds of golf and a good drink round Berwick upon Tweed on Friday night maybe around the end of September.
Anybody who would like to take part or as any ideas please feel free to contribute with dates and formats.

Re: 'What do you think'

Yip. I'd be there like a shot. Was a cracking couple of days in the best of company.

You might want to make the title of your post a bit more prominent though, Graham. It could easily go unnoticed.

Re: 'What do you think'

Would definately be up for this again depending on dates. have an holiday booked for 30th sept so will have to wait and see what dates are best for everyone

Re: 'What do you think'

over-committed so unfortunately I won't be able to make it but if there's a round 3 next year . . .

to anyone nervous about playing in this company off a high handicap - don't be. best bunch you'll ever meet on a course.

mind you, standing on the 1st and Dodger Senior saying in that great announcers voice of his 'Representing England, from XYZ Golf Club, . . . '

Re: 'What do you think'

It was in Englandshire last time, how about home soil?

Re: 'What do you think'

I would consider it again, as it was great fun. The dates could be interesting, as I may have a conflict with my annual holiday in Ireland.

Goswick suits me, as it is a/cheap, b/good accomodation (cheap), c/a cracking course, d/the town is a good size for an evening session, and e/ it is reachable for most.

If it were to be held in Scotland, I think the extra travelling time would kill it for me. Goswick is just about do-able, Scotland would add another hour or more.

I also think that an annual meet is enough, or it might become a bit stale in the long term.

Re: 'What do you think'

No offence to anyone (and well done to Dodger for offering) but couldn't we do an E vs. S somewhere nearer England?

Re: 'What do you think'

I agree. I couldn't justify or mange to travel to Goswick (only a 1 car family so not fair on HID to borrow it). I would have thought one somewhere in middle England this year and a rematch in middle Scotland next year would be a fairer way of doing things

Re: 'What do you think'

I would move heaven and Earth to make this event again without a doubt. I empathise with those who feel its a little far to travel, buts its such a great two days. No reason why another/different event cant be organised somewhere else, but the Goswick meet must live on, for the sake of Golfkind!

By that you wouldn't make the one in middle Scotland. :D

Re: 'What do you think'

I would agree with moving it down towards the middle of england as north is quite a way to travel?
